Hi Caregivers,

Taking care of a loved one with dementia is beautiful, but the day-to-day physical and emotional demands are incredibly high. To be the best caregiver you can be, you must take time to care for yourself, too.

Today, we are spotlighting an incredible national program designed to help you do exactly that: The Hilarity for Charity (HFC) Respite Grant.

What is Hilarity for Charity (HFC)?

HFC is a fantastic national non-profit on a mission to care for families impacted by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, activate the next generation of advocates, and fund critical brain health research.

One of their most impactful programs is their Respite Care Grant. These grants are designed to cover the cost of professional, in-home care or Adult Day Center care. It gives you the peace of mind to step away, rest, run errands, or simply catch your breath, knowing your loved one is in safe, professional hands.

⚠️ Important detail to keep in mind: HFC works directly with their preferred provider, Home Instead, to coordinate care for in-home grant recipients. Because they coordinate care directly through their agency network, they do not issue cash awards to families.

Are You Eligible to Apply?

The application process is straightforward. To qualify for the grant, you must be able to answer YES to all three of the following questions:

• [ ] Has your loved one been professionally diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia (FTD), Lewy body dementia (LBD), vascular dementia, mixed/other dementias, or Parkinson’s related dementia?

• [ ] Does the person you care for currently live at home with you?

• [ ] Are you facing emotional and financial hardships due to the unique challenges of caregiving?
