Dear COMPASS Community,

Caring for a loved one is incredibly rewarding, but taking time for yourself to recharge is just as important.

If you are a senior, or caring for a senior, you may be eligible for the Easterseals Lifespan Respite Program, which reimburses up to $500 within a calendar year for respite services received.

Are You Eligible?

To qualify for the reimbursement program, you must meet one of the following age/care requirements:

• You are caring for someone 60 years of age or older OR

• You are caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder OR

• You are 55 years of age or older

Additional Requirements:

• Applicants must be Delaware residents.

• Applicants must not receive respite funding through any other state source.

Respite Services

What is respite? Respite is anything that gives YOU, the caregiver, a break while someone else cares for your loved one. Some examples of respite include taking a walk in the park alone, attending a twice-weekly yoga class, rejoining the church choir, spending a weekend away with friends.
